Jennifer Bosworth - Struck

Hey!

I decided to read Struck written by Jennifer Bosworth because so many people were saying it was pretty good and I wouldn't waste my time. And that is an expression I love to hear.

"Mia Price is a lightning addict. She's survived strikes, but her craving to connect to the energy in storms endangers her life and the lives of those around her.

Los Angeles, where lightning rarely strikes, is one of the few places Mia feels safe from her addiction. But when an earthwake devastes the city, her haven is transformed into a minefield of chaos and danger. The beaches become massive tent cities. Downtown is a crumbling wasteland, where a traveling party moves to a different empty building each night, the revelers drawn to the destruction by a force they cannot deny- Two warring cults rise to power, and both see Mia as the key to their opposing doomsday prophecies. They believe she has a connection to the freak electrical storm that caused the quake, and to the far devastating storm that is yet to come.

Mia wants to trust the enigmatic and aluring Jeremy when he promises to protect her, but she fears he isn't who he claims to be. In the end, the passion and power that brought them together could be their downfall. When the final disaster strikes, Mia must risk unleashing the full horror of her strenght to safe the people she loves or lose everything."

A girl who can sort of control lightnings? Hell yes I was going to read this book.
But it isn't exactly that way the book follows...

I thought this was going to be about a badass girl who could control lightnings in some supernatural way but what really happens is a girl, Mia Price, running from her sad past where she killed a person by reflecting an lightning and trying to save the world from the Prophet who is the headmaster of one of the cults who think Mia is "the special one" that can start and stop the storm that is set to arrive in LA in a few days.
That's basically it.

One thing interesting is that Jeremy who is Mia's love interest, has some powers himself. And I'm used to just one member of the couple has that supernatural power or each one belongs to a certain group that are rivals and their love is forbidden. Wel, you get what I'm saying.

Is just me or this trailer almost seems like a real film trailer? Or a game? One of the best, without a doubt.

This is the first book in the series so I'm sure I'll reading more about Mia Price who is an lightning addict.

xx
