It's Valentine's Day!

Hello!

Today is February 14th which means is the most romantic day of year as some say. I hope you had a lovely one.

For me, though, it isn't that special. As I see it is just one day for you to spend money. Marketing, basically.
If you love someone you showed it everyday not on one single day when you're obliged. I think it is one day invented by brands for people to show who spend more money to see who loves more the other. It's kind of pathetic.

Anyway, despite everything I'm a 100% romantic and obviously this day do not pass by me without saying at least hello.
The Google Doodle was the most adorable thing ever! Was really sweet. I thought about publish it but I'm sure you already watched it so I put my head spinning for something I truly think is romantic and captured the real essence of romance. I ended up with this:

Heath Ledger singing Can't Take My Eyes Off You on 10 Thing I Hate About You

Happy Valentine's Day!

When It's Time

One of the most beautiful things on earth is the "magic" of music. Take this as an example, today when I was on the train after school, and today was such a stressful day, I turned my music on and just travelled around my playlist on shuffle mode. I like this. Mainly because I end up always earring something new or something I didn't remember which I think is one of the best feelings ever. The song I re-found today was When It's Time by Green Day. I haven't listened to this song for so long and honestly I don't know why because I love it. I love, love the lyrics. And because of that, today I'm going to post them. Imagine this as a love poem or some random text if you may.

The New Year

I'm sick of cleaning up the mess up you left behind
Oh, what a way to start the new year
On my hands and knees cleaning up the dirt and grime
Oh, what a way to start the new year

I'm sick of holding both ends of the tightrope
'Cause when you fall all that's left is old high hopes for me
Stretched thin to the end trying to keep it all in
Oh, what a way to start the new year

Won't you say that it's alright?
Won't you tell me it's ok?

Because there's 364 more days
I might be smiling but you'll never eve hear me say
That I like it in the shadows
Counting down to zero just to start again
Oh, what a way to start the new year

Don't get me wrong, I hate this holiday
Oh, what a way to start the new year
On my hands and knees choosing what I have to say
Oh, what a way to start the new year

I never realized it could mean so much
Just to go to bed late when we have to get up all the same,
And we scream and clap for the end of what was and
What we've become, oh

Won't you say it's alright?
Won't you tell me it's ok?

Because we have 364 more days
I might be smiling but you'll never even hear me say
That I like it in the shadows
Counting down to zero just to start again
Oh, what a way to start the new year

But was it really that bad?
And could it be better?
Well, I don't know, but with you I still have hope
That this (That this)
Could be (That this)
Oh, my year...

364 more days, 1 million chances left to find you and to see your face
Making light out of my shadows, finally get zero
And maybe we'll both say...

We have 364 more days, 1 million chances left to find you and to see your face
Making light out of my shadows, finally get zero
And maybe we'll both say
Oh, what a way to start the new year...

Annabel Lee

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden here lived whim you may know
By the name of ANNABEL LEE;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with love that was more than love-
I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsman came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.

The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
Went envying her and me-
Yes!- that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we-
Of many far wiser than we-
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee.

For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling- my darling- my life and my bride,
In the sepulchre there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

Author: Edgar Allan Poe

I must say is one of my all time favourites.

One Day

Hey!

Today I saw One Day with Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturguess.

I happen to watch this without any intention to. I've never read the book or heard anything of it (shame...). I saw this poster and played it with that why-not thought. I really like the image. It's cute. Romantic and understandable how girls are girly and boys are boyish, if that makes any sense.
I didn't know Anne Hathaway was the main character or any detail about the movie. Truth is I just liked the poster and yeah let's watch it.

So, I had no idea of the storyline therefore when I started I thought it was just another romantic movie. Just like any other. But no. That little fact (not so little, honestly) that happens toward the end.... wow... that's different and sad.

I searched for some opinions or reviews that compered both. The book and the adaptation to film. The opinions are divided by "yeah, great" and "no, the book is so much better...", well that happens always haha By that I don't know what to think.

Something that intrigues me sometimes is why do they chose american actors to be british?! Honestly I don't know why... Although Anne Hathaway was great. At the beginning is quite weird to hear her talk like that but after some time I got used to it.

I was thinking about read the book but I don't like watch the film first so... I don't know yet.

Great romance.
Go watch it if you haven't and tell me your opinion in the comments ;)

xx

PS - I don't know why but Blogger is messing up my posts' dates, today's 17th and he puts 16th... weird.

GG: Chuck's Apology To Blair

Hello!

This week I didn't watch any tv show because I had no time so today I'm watching them all. The Secret Circle is turning better every episode. The Vampire Diaries was intense, the end was... Let's just say I can't wait for the next episode. Next was Gossip Girl. Gossip Girl is one of that shows I love to see but is always the same even though every time I watch an episode I like it even more. Anyways, this week's ep was great.

I'm "team Serena and Nate" (or whatever you want to call it) but that seems impossible at this time.
Oh well, towards the end of the ep, there's a scene with Chuck and Blair where he apologizes to her. If a guy came to me and apologized the way he did... oh god!
It's the sweetest thing ever!!

He says: "I'm here to apologize about everything else. I'm sorry for losing my temper (...). I'm sorry for not waiting longer (...). I'm sorry for treating you like property. I'm sorry I didn't tell you I loved you when I knew I did. And most of all I'm sorry that I gave up on us when you never did."

How many girls are waiting for an apology like this?

Lauren Kate - Fallen In Love + Rapture

Heya!

A few weeks ago I added this new book - Fallen In Love - by Lauren Kate to my Upcoming Books I Want To Read list. Comes out in January which is totally awesome to kill some excitement until the last book on the Fallen saga - Rapture.

This past week the author showed us - the suckers for Luce and Daniel - both covers.

Fallen In Love: I was expecting something like this for Rapture. I mean the patron maintains... The same dress, the same girl even the scenario is similar. But no.

Don't get me wrong I really, really like it but... white dress?...

I showed this to one of my friends and she said "maybe it's a way of telling us they get married...". Well, I don't know that. Maybe she's right. Maybe she isn't. I have no idea. But maybe the change of colour means something important to the storyline... (Of course it means something important!)

Off all the covers, the one I disliked the most was the third - Passion - it's weird. And now seeing these two puts me thinking "whoa, the time flew so fast. it's almost the end and I'm worried about the covers?!". Lame.

I don't want to get too much into these books already because when they'll really come out I won't stop thinking and talking about anything else. As usual.

So, tell me which one is your favourite in the comments ;)

Spellbound + Spellcaster -> Cara Lynn Shultz

Hey!

I didn't have a book to read during these last couple of tough weeks, which was a torment. I must tell that when I'm reading a book the days pass faster. That's something I like.

Well then, I read Spellbound by Cara Lynn Shultz in less then 24 hours.

It was definitely a non-stop-reading-book. Because I could not stop. It's super addictive. Super addictive.

It's basically about a girl who have had a pretty bad life and goes living with her aunt in New York. There she meets Brendan, a boy that she almost instantly falls for. Later she discovers she's a reincarnation of a woman who was killed because fell in love with a upper crust men. But every time their reincarnation meet she dies due to the curse. Now, she's the woman and Brendan is the man.
"What's a girl to do when meeting The One means she's cursed to die a horrible death?"

The book could end with this one. But there'll be a second - Spellcaster:

I didn't find anything about the storyline but I'm hoping that until the release day some kind of preview will come out.

The cover says "She found true love... but can she keep it?".
Honestly if it is to get worse it's not worth it.
It's such a lovely love story that sort of "hurts" if they don't end together or somehow somewhere in between they fight and break up. If that is what the second book will be about... They break up and are the entire book apart just to be together in the end, thanks but no, thanks. Some people online were saying that... I hope from the bottom of my heart it won't be like that.

There's an amazing playlist during the first book. The author has a pretty good taste, I must say. Blink-182? My Chemical Romance? Paramore? The Who? Seems like something I'd write haha
You can buy Spellbound's playlist on iTunes, here, and be friends with Brendan on Facebook, here. Which is funny.
Spellcaster has a playlist as well, hereVersaEmerge, A Day To Remember, New Found Glory, The Academy Is..., Forever The Sickest Kids, Blink-182 and Paramore again. Seriously?! ;D

Blog TAG: Things I Want To Do Before I Die

Hi!

I don't know if there's a TAG for this or not but I saw a blogger do a list with the things she wanted to do before she died so I said to myself "why not do the same?!"
But for cut me short I made a limit of 10 so I didn't end up making an endless list.

  • I want to be happy.
  • I want to found the love of my live.
  • I want to have a penthouse somewhere amazing.
  • I want to travel all over the globe.
  • I want to live in London.
  • I want to go shopping in New York.
  • I want to write a book.
  • I want to go to a fashion show.
  • I want to design a clothing line.
  • I want to visit Coco Chanel's home.

Here it is. I think they all are the normal "dreams" (if you want to call it that) every girl has.

Thus, if you have a any kind blog, I TAG you. If this is not a TAG, let's make it one. Do a list of 10 thing you want to do/have/buy/go/whatever before you die then post your link in the comments.

This will be fun ;)

Think carefully, though, I'm regretting some of the things I wrote already.

Hello!

As it been written many times here, I'm a huge Chucks fan.

So, very often I go around the website and kill my desire of having them all. There haven't been one time I didn't liked anything (what a surprise?!).

This time I found these: All Star Basic Suede in a really intense blue I liked a lot.

Aren't they the prettiest thing ever?! Love at first sight.
If I catch them on one of my nearest stores, oh god, I'll buy them for sure!

Jessica Verday - The Hidden

Hi!

Last book on The Hollow series by Jessica Verday - The Hidden - is what I'm going to talk about today.

UK cover, as usual.

Third and last book about Abbey and Caspian's life.
I don't know what to say... I wasn't expecting that end. At all! I cried for 5 minutes after I ended it, don't know why though, well I think it was because as I see it is a little unfair and like I said I was in this obsessed and emotional web around these books and I am always sad when I finish a book I really like.

I will never forget this story, that's something I know for sure.

I really don't know what to say without giving away too much...
But read it! I'm saying this with all my heart. You won't regret. I think I grew up in the last 3 days... At least it made me think about things in a different way... Which I think is pretty great.

Jessica Verday - The Haunted

Hello!

As I said, finished the second book on The Hollow series by Jessica Verday - The Haunted.

UK cover again...

So, after the end of The Hollow when Abbey goes to a psychologist center, let's call it that way, I thought she'd take more time without going back to Caspian, but fortunately she sped that part up.

This second book is more... emotional that The Hollow which I think is a positive aspect. Between the first and the second I'd probably pick the second as my favourite just because of the "emo" feature.

I think with the new characters the book is a little confusing mainly on the first chapters of the third book, but that I'll leave for tomorrow. I mean, the storyline doesn't change much, they can't touch each other as well and without saying too much there's little that changes.

I'm at the end of the third, definitely will end it tonight, so tomorrow's post will be about The Hidden.

I've a strange feeling when I think about the end of this saga. I've got caught in this super weird emotional state that I'll probably cry at the last page...
Tomorrow you'll know...

Jessica Verday - The Hollow

Heya!

I'm back non-spot on reading books. I know I said I'd try to read The Hunger Games but I don't even touched it...

So, I read in 1 day Jessica Verday's The Hollow.

Sorry, but I like the UK cover better.

I wanted to read this book for several months but for some reason was always sold out or I was on saving-money-for-whatever mode.
Now that I read it all I'm happy. I thought it'd be fun and had that teen romantic thing but when I actually read the book... God, it's so much better than what I thought it'd be. The all graveyard thing is so cool because she really feels (or felt) save there. The "my boyfriend is a ghost" is something new to this time of the century when every teen-book is turning into a film. And btw I really enjoy not reading this inside "we can't be together because I can hurt you" or "I don't know if I can't control myself around you". Really happy about that. What I mean is these couple's problem isn't because he or she is a monster (just a ghost).
And Caspian is sooo sweet!...

So, I really, really liked the book. Oh and the perfume thing - so cool.

I'm halfway through the second book of The Hollow series - The Haunted - and as before I'm super deep emotionally caught on the storyline.
I hope to finish the second today. I'll tell you tomorrow everything about it.

The Art Of Getting By

Hello!

I wanted to see this movie - The Art Of Getting By - for along time, since I saw the trailer a few months ago on Youtube.

First of all I thought it was something different.

Now, about the actual film, I think I can relate so much with Freddie's character which is insane. Emma's on the other side not so much, I mean, everyone clearly can see he likes her and she sleeps with the only "friend" he had, seriously?! Who does that to a boy "complicated" as George?! I think that part is a little unfair but I can live with that...

I was expecting something dissimilar, like I said, so was kind of disappointing, but still is a great movie. Watch it, you'll learn something, I'm sure.
