Jennifer L. Armentrout - Obsidian

Hi!

After sometime without touching blogger, I'm back. Writing about the first book on the Lux series - Obsidian - written by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

"When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened hos mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpecting happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Damon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don't kill him first, that is."

A few weeks ago, I wrote my opinion on the prequel. The book is called Shadows and is kind of an supplement to Obsidian. Shadows is the 0.5 in the series and is about the story of Daemon's brother Dawson and his girlfriend Bethany which if you've read Obsidian know it's an important subject on its storyline.

As I said on the post I wrote about Shadows, I didn't know Obsidian was the first book, so when I ended Shadows and happily started Obsidian and discovered that it was about Dawson's brother... you can bet I was disappointed and sad even. Because I wanted to know what had happened to Dawson pretty bad.
But still, I forced myself to read it for the first chapters but then when Katy and Daemon start to almost get along and find some things about Dawson I needn't to force myself anymore I was hooked.

Despite the fact that 0.5 is written by Bethany and Dawson's point of view, Obsidian is written only with Katy's. I confess I prefer when both characters interfere as the storyteller.

This time, I did find the trailer.

I've already read the sequel to this. So the next book I'll talk about is going to be Onyx.

xx
